I have finally decided on my contribution to The Academy. I am forming a new academic discipline known as Studies Studies. Studies Studies is the study of everything that ends in “… Studies.” For example, Studies Studies students will study Women’s Studies, Gender Studies, Jewish Studies, Black Studies, Asian Studies, Social Studies, and various other Studies.

Do not worry, however: I will not really be studying women, gender, Jews, Blacks, Asians, or social-anything. Studies Studies will consist of the study of those Studies.

If you are interested in transferring to a Studies Studies department at your local university, please let me know.
