America in 140 characters or fewer

Last month I went to visit America for a couple weeks and I recorded the entire trip on the Twitter. Here are all my tweets, from the minute my vacation began to when I got back home. Sorry they’re in reverse order – I can’t find a tool that will export them from first to [...]

America, part 1: at a glance

Ever wondered what I do when I go to America? So have I. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of how I spent my winter vacation.

Day 1: JFK, Reagan, AT&T, T-Mobile, Chipotle, Costco, CVS, Lenscrafters, chicken tenders, cookies, Benny Lava

Day 2: pancakes, online glasses shopping, Kohl’s, Popeye’s, Goodwill, AT&T, Buca di Beppo

    Day 3: Costco, Pizza Hut, At&t, [...]

    Beach weather

It’s the last week in January and today’s temperature is in the mid 70s Fahrenheit – I couldn’t say what that equals in fake degrees – and I’m walking the dog in a t-shirt (I’m wearing the t-shirt; Sharav is nude). To the person who recently asked me if I don’t find life in Israel [...]

OMG it is so dangerous here!

In response to all those who laud me as an outstanding news source – even the outstanding news source – or who may be worried that “everyone in Israel is living in bomb shelters right now and it’s a state of emergency,” be assured that I still have no idea where to find the nearest [...]

What's it going to be like today?

I don’t have a television and don’t listen to the radio, which means I need to rely on the internet for almost all of my news (I can acquire the rest by personal observation), including weather reports. In the Jerusalem summer, that’s not difficult at all: hot, dry, cool at night. But in the winter, [...]

    Weather!

67 degrees in DC today? Unbelievable. It’s got to be global warming.

    British sissies

Everywhere I turn lately, all I see is Europeans complaining about abnormally high temperatures. It’s tricky, though, because they’re reporting all the degrees in centigrade, leaving it up to us to convert it back to fahrenheit. Actually, the temperature in Britain still hasn’t exceeded 97 degrees fahrenheit, which is certainly warm, but nothing special at [...]

    This weather is mad

It’s 17 May, and the temperature is 48 degrees, with a 44 degree wind chill! A wind chill in the middle of May! What is going on?

    Wacky weather

It’s the end of April, and the temperature is 43 degrees with a 36 degree wind chill. I liked the insane weather when it was snowing, but this is too much. Where are you, spring?
