I thought I’d had every imaginable type of roommate in the decade since I moved out of my parents’ house, but in fact I’ve had only eight of the nine possible types of roommates. Can you guess which type has never lived with me?
The gamer. I did live with a couple guys who were aficionados of a certain video game, but technically they were my suitemates, and they weren’t obsessive.
By the way, if you’re reading this, I’m not writing about you.
I did. Freshman year of college… he played until all hours of the night. His monitor was so big and bright and it was like the sun was located in our dorm room. He had a 1000W+ stereo system with a subwoofer that could shake the entire building. He even at one point bought a special gaming chair that had 5.1-channel surround sound built-in… to the chair!
Yeah, I moved out after my first semester.

No, but I believe he was a friend of Lev’s. He went to Magruder.

I’m wondering if it’s better to have one of the nine listed than the real worst roommate:

He’s so unpredictable that you start to wonder if you’re the one who’s crazy.
I have to admit that…
1. I’ve been a bit of four of the nine, but I guess if I borrow something once a year AND return it, that’s not really the borrower.
2. When I had a 3 for a roommate as a junior in college, he was one of my best roommates. The room was always cleaner than usual, and we had a loft in our dorm room, so I didn’t really have my space impinged upon.
I have no clue which one you’ve never had. Which one?
I’ve had roommates from hell, but none of these nine, just the unpredictable ones.
